In-Office Balloon Sinuplasty

Friday, January 4th, 2013

In-Office Balloon sinuplasty is the latest in our offering to improve patients with sinus headache, sinus infections and sinus pressure. Selected patients that have sinus problems due to blocakge of sinus openings may be a candidate for this procedure. A CT scan is usually performed prior to consideration of the procedure. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in the office. After numbing the nose, a catheter is passed into sinus openings inside the nose and the openings are then enlarged with a balloon. No packing is necessary and the bleeding is minimal. You may return to work the next day. There is virtually no down time. Post procedure care is simple and usually we advise saline sprays about five to six times daily for 4-6 weeks.
