Here is a demonstration of a variety of CT scan images of patients with fungal sinus disease, both allergic fungal sinusitis and fungal sinus ball as well as some intra-operative pictures of fungus mucin.

This is a series of CT scans of the sinuses on patients that have had sinus surgery for sinusitis and fungal sinus disease. The pre-operative scan is first followed by postoperative scan for that sinus and that individual. So the first scan is before surgery for a individual and the second scan is after surgery for that same individual, the third scan is a scan before surgery for another individual and the fourth scan is a post surgery scan for that individual and so on. The idea is to demonstrate that sinus surgery in the hands of a competent surgeon can be a very effective tool for the treatment of sinusitis and allergic fungal sinus disease. These surgeries were performed by Dr Umang Khetarpal. Dark areas or black shadows in the sinuses signify air and gray opacification within the sinus indicates infection, fungus or inflammation. Therefore CT scans before surgery will demonstrate moderate amount of grayness within the sinus spaces and after surgery the sinus spaces should be black or filled with air.
